Shivaji's mother was named Jijabai. She was a strong and wise woman.Jijabai knew from the moment her son was born that he was destined for greatness. She named him Shivaji, in honor of the goddess Shivai.

As a young mother, Jijabai educated little Shivaji through captivating stories from the Hindu scriptures and epics. These tales nourished his sense of courage, morality, and duty.

Seeing his early promise, Jijabai decided to rigorously prepare Shivaji in the martial arts. She hired the finest teachers to train him in archery, swordsmanship, wrestling, and horsemanship from childhood. Shivaji soon grew into a formidable warrior.

Jijabai also nurtured Shivaji's intellect and curiosity. "Fight to defend dharma and protect the helpless," she taught him. Shivaji took these lessons of justice and compassion to heart.

He started his own kingdom called the Maratha Empire when he was very young, only 16 years old.His mother's faith and wisdom gave him the confidence to succeed.

Shivaji started by launching clever guerilla attacks on regional sultans, ambushing forces ten times the size of his young troops. These strategies let him outmaneuver powerful enemies..Even when faced with tremendous odds, Shivaji prevailed through the bravery, intellect and principles nurtured in him by his mother from boyhood.

As word of Shivaji's bold skills spread, followers flocked to join his Maratha forces. He constructed impenetrable forts atop mountains to defend his growing lands.He Constructed strategic hill forts like Raigad, Pratapgad, and Sindhudurg to defend his territory.

Expanding his empire across western and central India, Shivaji developed progressive revenue and naval systems. He ruled with fairness, winning people's admiration.
